"Nuna" is the Iñupiat Eskimo word for land. Nuna Technologies is a women owned small business founded in 2000 by Allison Graves Gaylord while living in Barrow, Alaska.  Allison is a certified GIS Professional with over 27 years experience primarily focused on research and application development in Alaska and the circumarctic region. 

Since 2003, the offices of Nuna Technologies in Homer, Alaska have overlooked Kachemak Bay and Grewingk Glacier with it's "nunatak" (a lonely peak of bedrock protruding above a field of ice and snow) as a constant reminder of Alaska's ever changing landscape.
